New legislation recently signed by President Biden replaces the 1938 U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulation on testing animals for safety and efficacy in drug trials. The new law allows the FDA to promote a drug or biologic to human clinical trials after "either animal or non-animal tests." (Science)
